Although the episodic installments of the Star Trek franchise have all but fallen into the archives of Paramount, the hope and dreams of the Final Frontier live on through its fans. UFOP: StarBase 118 RPG is a prime example of how fans come together to press on in the search for the unknown. Through team writing, multiple members take part in a SIM, where they can be a character of their own choosing. By collaborating, the groups take their characters, on their assigned ship, and further explore the world that Star Trek only started to discover. Fascination? Exploration? Imagination?
