The Xerox XE90 Printer Cartridge Is Young And Sharp And Provides Quality Photos For Your Home

Posted on Feb 7, 2010 05:20:54 PM

Taking a look at the Xerox WorkCentre XE90 printer reveals that one is looking at a fairly unique laser printer that is multifunction capable. This is because it also supplies a flatbed scanner and a fax capability, which can make it ideal for the needs of a small business. When it’s not connected to a PC, it will work quite well as a stand-alone fax machine and copy machine. The Xerox WorkCentre XE90 toner ensures that each page is sharply professional in every application.

This machine is not inexpensive, so we should get that out of the way right off the bat. New, it listed at over $3600, although it can often be found for less than $3000 after discounts. This particular Xerox unit puts out monochrome black and white and is designed to fit neatly on a desktop environment in a small business. It is only about 18 inches wide by 17 inches deep by 12 inches high.

Print speeds are good for a laser multifunction printer at around eight pages per minute of output product. It uses standard wired connectivity technologies to hook up to the PC or a network fairly easily. Interfaces between the unit and the PC are via a means of parallel ports, which is standard for the industry at the time this unit was released.

Resolution is more than acceptable at 600 dpi by 600 dpi for the kind of laser printer duties it is expected to handle. This particular model in the Xerox WorkCentre line of machines does not offer PostScript support, but that’s not a big deal. Paper size that can be handled is good, with it taking in up to 8. 5″ x 14″ and all standard letter size paper in addition to legal and envelope sizes.

The Xerox WorkCentre XE90 printer can hold up to 250 sheets of paper in a single feeder tray, with a recommended duty cycle of 1500 pages before requiring swap out of the Xerox WorkCentre XE90 toner cartridge and incidental maintenance. Additionally, fax machine capabilities come in at a standard 14.4 Kbps using any phone line modem. The flatbed scanner also provides good resolution at 400 dpi by 600 dpi in a single pass.

From the time one tasks a print job to the time the first page emerges is around 10 seconds, making this more than an acceptable unit for most small business needs. It doesn’t include expansion bays or slots, so remember that should this machine be contemplated for expansion into a larger network or the like. Industry-standard IEEE 1284 parallel ports are the norm along with a standard modem connection that runs through phone lines.

This particular Xerox multifunction laser printer operates using most Windows systems up through 2000, and it will also use Windows NT 4. 0. This can make it a decent candidate for small networks in a pinch. Standard one-year service and support agreements are included and an extended warranty can be had for a small additional fee.

As far as memory storage capabilities go, the fax machine included with this multifunction can hold up to 120 pages of incoming or outgoing faxes should it run out of paper while nobody is paying attention. It can do just about everything, allowing a person to print, scan and copy, while handling incoming and outgoing faxes at the same time. Also, a user can scan a document in and immediately fax it.

When taken altogether, this Xerox printer does most everything extremely well and one doesn’t have to worry about it doing anything poorly at all. This includes, of course, the quality of the prints using Xerox WorkCentre XE90 Toner. Simply refilling this printer with quality Xerox Printer Toner is one way to ensure the details of your prints and with Qtoner Toner Cartridge available for replacement, you won’t ever have to have a down day. With this printer, you won’t want to.
